The Voynich Manuscript Oracle by the Czech painter Klára Sedlo is a set of 28 cards. Each card features one of Klára's paintings. For several years now, Klára has used the mysterious plants from the Voynich Manuscript as inspiration in her work.
What is it about? The 15th-century Voynich manuscript is also called "the most mysterious book in the world." It is written in an unknown script and has not been deciphered to this day. In addition to the mysterious text, it contains equally mysterious drawings of non-existent plants. No one knows where they are from, yet the manuscript is full of them. It is precisely these drawings of strange plants from the manuscript that inspire Klára's paintings and this Oracle. In the original manuscript, the plants are simple sketches, however Klára transforms them into complex and elaborate oil paintings.
Klára's cards depict scenes of bizarre plants that levitate, have different auras, grow out of deep bodies of water, or dance in formations.
Each card contains a short affirmation, motto, or reflection, which is often a metaphor for the plants themselves, their growth, and appearance (text is in English).
The meanings of the individual cards are explained in more detail in the online guide, which is in English. A QR code linking to the guide is included in the deck.
Each deck is numbered (1st edition, 1/500, 2/500...) and signed by the author.
The deck contains a total of 30 cards: 28 interpretation cards, a card with a QR code, and a card with the signature and number of your deck.
